Tell It All Tuesday: How To Shop Organics

by naneraday on March 11, 2014

I think I can speak for the good majority of us out there when I say buying organic is a little overwhelming for the pocket book at first.  By no means am I pushing around large cartfuls of organic goodness at Whole Foods but I have nailed down a pretty good system for now.  Oh and guess what?!  It isn’t breaking the bank.

-Buy in season fruits and veggies.  Thru the winter I have been using organic frozen fruit for smoothies and oatmeal from either Whole Foods or TJs.  If I am using it for oatmeal, I just set however much I want in a dish overnight and it’s perfect in the am.

-Make your own fancy nut butters.  Lets face it, no one want to pay to close to ten bucks on a jar of nut butter.  So obnox.

-When in doubt, buy it online or in bulk.  Let’s face it, I’m a Costco, and Amazon junkie.    You know I got that Prime status.

-Grow it yourself.  By simply investing a few bucks in good soil and seeds, you won’t have to step inside a single grocery store all summer long.

What are your favorite tips and tricks for buying organic??
