Puppy Postpartum

by naneraday on January 29, 2013

Is it strange that life sped up and slowed down at the same time?  I guess that doesn’t really make sense but hear me out.  Ever since little boy Duke came along, we have thrown yet another thing into our already hectic lives but at the same time he has made us stop and slow down.  We have been getting up earlier and making the most out of every morsel of the day.

Gray Day!

We have been especially noticing this change on the weekends.  Up early and ready to kick off the day.  Do fur baby moms get postpartum?  I swear I have it.  Tomorrow he will transition into half day with us at work and then half the day at home with an afternoon break from a local dog walker.  He has been getting quite used to having us at his disposal and since Weims are known for separation anxiety issues, we don’t want to get him overly attached to us and panic when we leave.  Ohhh the tails of Duke, the eight week old little turd.

Can I tell you about the looks he was giving me when I didn’t offer him any of my breakfast

Proats made with protein powder(since I forgot to grab greek yog from Costco Monday night), topped with nanes, bluebs, and a big scoop of almond butter.

All shoved into my all time fave nearly empty jelly jar.

Randomness:  Anyone that knows Mike, knows he can eat.  However I can always out eat him in the mornings. Case in point, the one time I give up an empty almond butter jar so he can have oats in a jar, he can’t even finish it.  I guess I’m just an oatmeal monsta.

Demolished.

In other news, I have a plan to start training for a 10K.  My running hero Lindsay suggested Hal Higdon’s plans so I’m going to roll with it.  Taking suggestions for any fun 10Ks out there.  I have been in such a group exercise rut that I am excited for a new challenge along with incorporation more yoga into my life.  After Saturdays spa day at Soulistic, I was prescribed more “me time”. Tonight I made it happen and there is lots more where that came from.

Time to hang with my boys ;)

xxoo

Have you ever completed a 10K??  What training plan did you use?

Can’t wait to hear about your 10k training!

Also, I significantly out-eat my boyfriend every morning. I also don’t understand how he can wake up and not eat anything first thing. I get hangry fast if I don’t get food into my belly ;) .

Have a great weekend!
